Our Quaternity system, designed to cool and heat a single room, consists of an air handler connected to an outside condensing unit using flexible piping and wiring. Often called a “mini-split,” this is the most common type of air-conditioning and heating system in the world. But Quaternity’s advanced air purification and dehumidifying capabilities make it unique.
When in operation, the front panel gently raises itself to let the air flow out of the system, creating this clean sophisticated look. This system’s design, known in Japan as Ururu-Sarara, was awarded the “Good Design Award” sponsored by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization to promote excellence in commercial product design.

Quaternity has a powerful, multilayered air-purifying function that eliminates allergens, viruses and bacteria instead of merely trapping them. By combining a Titanium Apatite filter with our Flash Streamer technology, we have created a photocatalyst twice as powerful as direct sunlight. This synergistic design decomposes microorganisms more than 1,000 times faster than ordinary ”plasma” purification systems. Mites, pollen, mold spores and unpleasant odors are all quickly removed.

Quiet operation.
Because it makes slight adjustments as needed, a Quaternity cooling and heating system does not “kick” on or off. The outside unit is small and relatively quiet because it has an advanced compressor with fewer moving parts than a reciprocating compressor. In fact, it’s no louder than an electric toothbrush and the indoor unit is literally quieter than a whisper when in quiet operation mode.

Power-Airflow Dual Flaps
In heating and cooling mode, a small flap swings back and forth to circulate the air evenly. In heating mode, a large flap extends downward to force warm air toward the floor where it will naturally rise.
Wide-angle louvers
The innovative, curved design of these louvers provides wide airflow coverage no matter where the unit is placed in the room.
Vertical auto-swing
Distributes cool/warm air from ceiling to floor by moving flaps up and down.
Horizontal auto-swing
Distributes cool/warm air from side to side by moving louvers back and forth.
3-D Airflow
Delivers a stream of air to every corner of the room by combining the vertical and horizontal auto-swing patterns.
Comfortable Mode
Prevents air from blowing directly on your body by changing the angle the airflow is delivered at. Warm air is directed nearly straight down because it naturally rises, while cold air is pushed out at ceiling height.
Indoor Quiet operation
The operating sound level of the inside unit is decreased 3 dB below the “low” fan speed setting when this button on the remote controller is pressed. Some capacity might be lost as the airflow rate is reduced.
Outdoor Quiet operation
Pressing the “Quiet” button on the remote controller lowers the sound level of the outdoor unit by changing its frequency and fan speed.
Intelligent Eye
This is an infrared sensor that detects human movement. If you leave the room for more than 20 minutes, it adjusts the temperature by a few degrees to save energy. Savings of up to 20% when cooling and 30% when heating are possible.
Automatic Operation
Automatically selects cooling or heating mode at start-up. Intelligently switches between cooling and heating to maintain the set temperature.
Program Dry Function
Lowers humidity in the air without lowering the room temperature. Fan speed and temperature are controlled automatically.
Auto Fan Speed
The fan speed that best suits the thermostat setting and room temperature is automatically selected by the microprocessor. This helps save energy and minimizes operating sound.
Hot Start
Air is preheated to prevent uncomfortable cold drafts when heating operation first begins.
Mold-Proof Air Filter
Filter is infused with a nonhazardous, colorless and odorless mold preventive to make it virtually immune to mold growth.
Air purifying filter with photocatalytic deodorizing function
This filter combines an air-purifying filter and a photocatalytic deodorizing filter into one highly effective unit. It traps microscopic particles, decomposes odors and deactivates bacteria and viruses.
Titanium apatite photocatalyst
Activated by natural light, titanium apatite absorbs microscopic particles and breaks down organic contaminates such as bacteria and viruses into clumps of protein. It also eliminates odors.
Flash Streamer
The Flash Streamer discharges high-energy electrons to purify the air 1,000 times faster than “plasma” air-purification systems. It rapidly removes allergens like pollen and dust mites as well as irritating pollutants in addition to eliminating bacteria, viruses and mold spores.
Wipe-clean flat panel
Flat panel models have a groove-free surface that can be wiped clean with a single pass of a soft cloth. The panel can also be easily removed for a more thorough cleaning.
Powerful Operation
Pushing this button on the remote control boosts airflow to its maximum volume for a 20-minute period. After this, the unit automatically returns to its previous settings.
Remote Controller with backlit display
Controller has a backlit liquid crystal display and luminescent control buttons for easy use in dimly lit rooms.
LCD wireless remote controller
Smart design puts frequently used buttons at your fingertips for instant access while less-needed buttons are placed under the cover. A large liquid crystal panel makes it easy to see the settings.
Indoor unit On/Off switch
An easily accessed On/Off switch on the indoor unit allows you to start up the system should you misplace the remote controller or discharge its batteries.
24-hour On/Off timer
The timer can be set to start and stop at any point in a 24-hour period.
Night Set Mode
This feature gently raises or lowers the preset temperature to keep the air flowing and prevent you from feeling too hot or too cold as you sleep.
Auto Restart after Power Failure
The system resumes operating as it was before – operating mode, airflow volume, set temperature and timer settings are all restored.
Self-diagnosis with digital display
Malfunction codes are displayed on the wireless remote controller’s liquid crystal display for fast and easy diagnosis of any problems.
Anticorrosion Treatment of Outdoor Heat Exchanger Fins
An acrylic resin layer makes the fins five to six times more resistant to acid rain and salt corrosion. A hydrophilic film layer also prevents rust caused by the runoff of water droplets. A rustproof steel sheet on the bottom of the unit also enhances system durability.
